I keep forgetting to write this one down. When I was young, I had a very vivid and somewhat scary (and possibly recurring) dream that a little man was under my pillow or in my room. I had a name for him: Germ. But I was always creating a new language due to naive symbolist conceptions. For instance, I used to associate the word "Campbell" with mess or dirt, because we had a pair of babysitters whose last name was Campbell, and they kept a messy house.
The Germ man of my dream was green, and had a creepy face. It wasn't until earlier this year I was reading something that spoke of a common dream of a smiling man, which is the same I saw in my dream. There's more about him here; evidently this face is often seen in dreams. There are several theories. I personally think I just don't accurately remember the face too well, and upon reading about it recently, there was an archetype sort of familiarity and maybe I just think I saw the same man in my dreams when young. I'm talking real young, like age 1 or so. (Yes, I do have some vague memories back that far.)
I've just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream weaver train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind...
